Presidential
Decree 491 in 1974 declared that Nutrition Month shall be held every July to
create greater awareness on the
importance of nutrition among Filipinos. The law mandates the National
Nutrition Council (NNC) to coordinate and lead the nations campaign.
The 2019 Nutrition Month theme is “Kumain ng
Wasto at Maging Aktibo…Push Natin To’’
(Eat
healthy and do physical activity…Lets push this). This theme encourage everyone to realize the
importance of having a healthy diet. All of us must eat healthy foods like
vegetables, to increase physical activity and reduced sedentary behavior and be
more active to prevent obesity, non-communicable diseases like cancer,
diabetes, and cardio-vascular diseases.
Having
a healthy lifestyle is the utmost important in our life. I know all of us
varied in different lifestyle. Some is not physically fit, while othErs is
physically fit. People who are
physically fit, they must maintain their weight, they must include a balance
of healthy eating and physical exercise to equate energy expenditure and energy
intake while the non-physically fit people must gain or loss weight, they must
encourage to have exercise everyday, they must achieved a healthy lifestyle.
So all of us must coordinate to this
kind of campaign or program to contribute to a better nutrition and physical
activity for a better health.
